2015

Costain completed a temporary diversion prior to the permanent diversion of the PBA and PVA 132kV circuits for UK Power Networks as an enabling package for Highways England’s A5-M1 link scheme.

Our team coordinated the construction and outage programme to achieve wider project objectives with the underground cable contractor, local authority by-pass contractor and Highways England link road contractor.

Costain managed all overhead line outage planning, permit issuing and undercrossing interfaces which helped minimise disruption to the UK Power Networks’ end users. The temporary diversion of the overhead circuits allowed another contractor to successfully complete the installation of a new 132kV underground cable with minimal disruption to the local community.

Significant 3rd party interface management was undertaken to ensure minimal disruption to the local community during final conductor and tower removal as per of the diversion works.

The programme sequenced to mitigate critical path interfaces.
